I am really looking forward to presenting you the valley where I grew up, the red wine paradise known as the “Ahr”. The Ahr-Valley is however compared to the other wine regions of Germany quite small. But our variety of tourist highlights is even greater.
We have a lot of terrific chefs who are inviting you to come and taste their culinary pleasures from the region. It doesn’t matter if you are in one of our many restaurants or if you are at one of our varied events, I can promise you that they will all pamper you.
The Ahr-Valley is also one of the most beautiful cultivated landscapes in Germany. Along the steep vineyards, nature and hiking lovers will acquire unforgettable memories. Here you will find places to relax but also something for the adventurer, the Ahr-Valley invites you to discover.

As the current German Wine Queen, your enjoyment of the wine and the events from all the German vintages lie close to my heart. Witness the red wines on offer, but also try the early and late Burgundy wines. They rank highly in national and international comparisons, as some of the best around. I recommend all guests should visit an old-fashioned wine tavern, from a welcoming family of winemakers – there you can take pleasure in and experience their gastronomic specialties in an extremely personal way. Don’t miss our themed wine festivals and unforgettable events held by our highly motivated young winemakers, for example “SchlAHRvino” and “Absolut Wein”. This is now not only an insider’s tip.
With pleasure the Ahrtal-Tourismus-Team will help you to find suitable accommodation for your stay, organise individual framework programmes or facilitate you with many leisure activities.
